What You Will Learn
Walker is a third party logistic provider responsible for the offsite Sequencing, CMA and Container Management Center (CMC) operations for the General Motors plant in Wilmington, DE. This new warehouse operation with complex business processes required a complete information technology system. The cohesiveness of the solution was critical to the success of this new operation.
A supply chain execution solution which provides extended WMS functionalities with a robust and state of the art material management module for JIT assembly to sequence manufacturing was implemented. The result: two warehouses which support JIT delivery to the production line, delivering more than two (2) million order lines per year and average less than four (4) errors per million parts delivered.
Key Takeaways:
- Learn best practices for implementing complex WMS
- What are the key elements required for a seamless processes integration with a 3PL
- How to achieve a 99.9997% (six-sigma level) outbound accuracy in a high velocity DC
